HECHT 947 Complete Chainsaw Sprocket Cover With Bar Nuts

Complete sprocket cover fits Hecht 947 and many other chainsaws, replacing part number 947000138. The sprocket cover — also known as the clutch cover — is the plastic panel that encloses the drive sprocket, clutch drum and the heel of the guide bar on the right side of the saw. It holds the bar retaining nuts and the chain brake lever, and on most saws also houses the oil outlet that feeds the guide bar groove. A cracked or broken sprocket cover leaves the drive sprocket and chain exposed during operation, prevents the guide bar from being correctly clamped, and can block oil delivery to the bar if the outlet port is damaged. Fitting a replacement restores safe enclosure of the drive system and correct bar clamping and oil feed.
