HECHT 947 Chainsaw Air Filter / Cleaner

Air filter / Cleaner fits Hecht 947. Replacing part number 947000050. The air filter sits between the outside air and the carburettor inlet, trapping sawdust, wood particles and debris before they can enter the fuel and air mixing circuit. A blocked or torn air filter restricts airflow to the carburettor, causing the engine to run rich, lose power and produce excessive exhaust smoke. A damaged filter with holes or tears allows unfiltered air and abrasive particles through to the carburettor and cylinder, accelerating wear on internal engine components. The air filter should be cleaned regularly during use and replaced when it can no longer be cleaned effectively.
