HECHT 947 Chainsaw Top / Air Filter Cover

Air filter top cover fits Hecht 947 and many other chainsaws, replacing part number 947000052. The air filter top cover is the plastic lid that clips over the air filter housing on the top of the engine unit, securing the air filter in position and sealing the filter housing against unfiltered air bypassing the element. A cracked or missing cover allows debris-laden air to enter the carburettor unchecked, accelerating wear on the piston and cylinder and causing carburettor contamination. Without the cover the air filter can also dislodge during operation. Fitting a replacement keeps the air filter correctly seated and the intake air circuit sealed.
