Flywheel cover fits Hecht 947, Makita DCS460, DCS461, DCS500, DCS501, DCS4600, DCS5000, DCS5121, DE5045 and Dolmar PS-460, PS-500, PS-4600, PS-5000 chainsaws, replacing part numbers 947000100 and 181118041. The flywheel cover is the plastic shroud that encloses the flywheel on the ignition side of the engine, channelling cooling air drawn by the flywheel fins around the cylinder during operation. A cracked or broken cover disrupts this forced air cooling, causes debris to enter the flywheel area and leaves the ignition coil and flywheel exposed to damage. Fitting a replacement restores correct engine cooling and protects the ignition system from contamination.
