Original Stihl gearbox / gearcase gasket fits Stihl HS72, HS74, HS76 and HS85 hedge trimmers. This gasket seals the joint between the gearbox housing faces, keeping the grease that lubricates the blade drive gears contained within the gearcase. When the gasket flattens, hardens or tears, grease can work its way out past the joint, leaving the gears under-lubricated and accelerating wear on the internal components. Fitting a replacement whenever the gearbox is opened for servicing or cleaning restores a proper grease-tight seal.
