PATRIOT BP41 Chainsaw Clutch + Washer

Clutch with washer fits Patriot BP41 and many other chainsaws. The clutch consists of spring-loaded clutch shoes that, above idle speed, fling outward under centrifugal force to grip the clutch drum and transmit engine power to the chain; the washer sits alongside it, keeping the assembly correctly located and spaced on the crankshaft. When the clutch shoes wear thin, their springs weaken, or the washer is missing or worn, the clutch can slip under load or engage inconsistently, leading to a chain that lags behind engine revs or jerky engagement as the throttle is opened. Fitting a replacement clutch with washer restores clean, consistent engagement.
